Back in Town

Weeee!!!! Yes, I am back from Singapore. Actually balik hari je, but then we arrived home somewhere around 0300 hours, check inbox and replied inquiries from customers, bagi crews from Restaurant City rest, water plants from the yard, solat Subuh, then terus ZZZzzz..No time for story telling...huhu

Keluar rumah around 1330 hours, after a long drive and stuck few times in the road due to the traffic, we reached Singapore around 1630 hours. I was expecting earlier arrival. I once drove to Singapore and it took me 2 hours to get there; with speed not more than 160km/hr. My own best record so far. Perhaps long holiday kan sempena Merdeka. I guess ramai nak balik kampung sempena bulan puasa kot.

So, tak semua target accomplished.  Tak sempat for Murtabak (long queue, sumpah giler punya long!), tak larat for the sup kambing (dah banyak sangat food yang dibeli, dan terasa nak wasatiah sket), and tak sempat juga for the durian puff (dah tutup pun bakery tu masa tu).

Let me share antara tempat for good food. Ini bukan tujuan for leisure dining or expensive food.

#1  Rojak keling (no offense, tapi memang disebut keling) - Place: Ayer Rajah, dekat dengan West Coast Rd. Stall nama ape ntah  Belasah je. Ada dua stalls, dua-dua pun sedap.
#2  Mutton Chop, Bone Steak, Mihun Goreng Mamak - Ni pun kat food court Ayer Rajah juga. Mana-mana stall pun sama je sedapnye.
#3  Murtabak Singapore & Beriyani Gam Kambing - Place: Zam Zam REstaurant, opposite Masjid Sultan, kat Jalan Sultan.  For those yang rajin shopping kat Arab Street tu, insyaallah takkan terlepas pandang nye. Oh and they have the best suji in town!
#4  Durian Puff - Place: Putri Bakery,  dekat dengan Joo Chiat.
#5  Nasi Ambeng - The original recipe..nyum nyum.  Place: dulu kat Geylang. Sekarang Geylang dah kena removed.
#6  Air Kathira - Original nye, white in colour. Beli la kat mana-mana pun kat Singapore ni, memang sedap dan tiada tandingannya dengan kat Malaysia punya :(
#7  Erkk...TBA later bila teringat ek..

Sorry folks, no photos taken for the food as well as the journey.

Oh yes..along the way to Singapore, we stopped by at R&R Pagoh.  Ada miniature of Balai Polis Bukit Kepong kat situ.  Sempena bulan kemerdekaan kot..Sempatla snap using camera phone tapi maafkan jela  kecantikannya..

Then kat Singapore, I found this very, very, interesting. Something yang I belum jumpa kat Malaysia lagi.
A covered construction site.

That's all folks! Perlu lelap kejap sebelum sahur.

Happy Merdeka Day, people!!

Off to Singapore

Haishhh..betul ke nak kena balik kampung sok ni? It's been nearly 3 years (or more) since my last visit.  Rindu tu ada juga..

I can't see why others love visiting S'pore. I can't feel the enthusiasm and excitement like them. Maybe sebab dah memang my so called hometown kot, so dah taleh nak excited lelebih.

The only thing that I worship about S'pore, is the food!

An there goes my calories burnt just a very short while ago. Sia-sia je usaha murni tersebut...

Perlu isi white card ni. If tak jadi, at least usaha murni tadi takla sia-sia...kan??Eyebrow

Sneak Peek: Engagement

I was browsing through my old engagement album in my lappy puasa2 ni. And I thought it would be nice to share with you :D

#1 Hantaran from Me to Him (decor: self made)

#2 Hantaran from Him to Me (decor: self made juga)

#3 Mini Pelamin (single seater only, with fresh flowers) by Bina Kaseh
The mini pelamin costs me RM 1k okeyh..worth ke? You judge it..

# 4 Fiancee's dress (custom made)
Kain lace and lining from Alinas.  Suppose nak tempah terus, but they charge me approximately RM 1k for full lining.  In the end tempah kat Ampang Point je, cost me RM 250, and RM 100 for the veil. Nama apa ntah. Not recommended pun as the jahitan sangat tak kemas. Kain suppose to be kembang payung, result nye sangatla sempit. Nak langkah pun susah..

#5 Fiance's dress (custom made)
Bought the kain from Harrissons. Puas hati, but I believe ada tempat lain yang lagi murah.  Then the dress was tailored by MJ Collections, Ampang. Jahitan yang kemas, murah, and puas hati! Sampin was bought at Midvalley centrecourt, since masa tu ada booth sempena raya. Expensive, of course. Tapi masa tu short of time, so redah je..Yupe, kami memang macam nak nikah..

#6 Makeup by Fiza Zainuddin.
Datang on time okey.  And it was really early in the morning, like 7.45 am.
Highly recommended! RM 750 for nikah kawen, RM 450 for engagement.

#7  Food wise, tak sedap langsung, not recommended at all.

#8 Photogrpaher by pakcik neighbour depan rumah saya.
Charge RM 500 for printing only, with 2 pieces of A4 sized photo, with frame. Dia tak ambik service charge pun..Sudah save di situ kot..

Engagement was quite a burst for me. Memang tak sempat langsung nak survey thoroughly for good price. Grab je apa yang ada depan mata. Dan saya belajar dari itu. Insyaallah, nak kahwin ni since ada gap approximately 1 year & 8 months boleh la survey2 and riki2 mana yang perlu.

On that day, after bacaan yassin in the morning, after makeup and sedikit phoshoot, sumenye lega. Lega giler. Tup2 bila pihak lelaki sampai, kenervesan melanda diri. Apa tak nye, dahla bilik aku menghadap jalan, so nampak dengan jelas dan nyata la rombongan lelaki march over kan..Grrr...Dah la masa tu bulan Syawal, so kompem la aku ni tegemoks sket kan..Takut giler cincin tak muat masuk jari..huhu

Tu bukan best part. Yang best nye sedang elok je rombongan lelaki bagi salam "Assalamualaikum"..tetibe ter blackout entire taman perumahan aku. And yang best lagi, sepanjang2 ceremony tu memang bergelap, berpanas, berpeluh, dan berkuap. Sib baik buat siang hari. Rupanye kantoi TNB buat maintenance for the whole taman. Ntah pape ntah. Bukan nak bagi notice dulu. Dahla masa tu weekend, and time orang sibuk buat open house di bulan Syawal.

Memorable sungguh sebab memang tak expect langsung nak jadi. Nanti leh citer kat anak cucu aku bila dah tua nanti..:D

This is wrong

Lately teringat kan seseorang. I know it's wrong. Tapi saya yakin takde apa-apa hidden agenda or anything that leads to that agenda.  Sebab saya yakin dengan diri sendiri. I know I took the right path. For the first time, saya rasa saya bijak. Never been this certain before. Saya tak pernah firm begini, tapi kali ni saya boleh buat tanpa saya sedar. Berkat 7 istikharah kot. Alhamdulillah..

Kemudian baru saya buat istikharah. Syukur, sekarang saya tak hanyut lagi.

Saya boleh buat ni, tapi kenapa dia tak boleh? Demi kasih sayang saya pada dia, saya doakan dia kuat untuk buat macam saya buat walaupun saya tau kes kami tak sama tapi similar. Saya harap dia tahu apa itu let things go..

Marhaban Ya Ramadhan

FADHILAT SOLAT TERAWIH:

Malam 9 - Allah kurniakan pahala dan dinaikkan mutu ibadat hambanya seperti Nabi Muhammad S.A.W.

Wallahualam.

Manusia Terpantas

Perfect run, kata mereka...

Can he beats time? Cause if he can, I would love to ask him do it for me. So that I would know what will happen ahead. So that I would never make a mistake. So that I can be perfect. And I would never have to bet. So I would never have to loose.

Tapi takpe, I know I am perfect in my every imperfectness.

Confidence level yang tinggi!

Simplicity

I'm a simple girl who adore simple decors. Seriously. Less is perfect. Oftenly argue with my Mom, who prefers yang lebat2. Being the first child makes me stuck and torn between my preference and others'. Betul, kata mereka it's your wedding, girl! Do as you may. You don't get married everyday..Tapi cam tak best je. Hey, it's their first child's wedding. They don't get first child everyday...kan, kan, kan?

Anyhow, was browsing through favor box and I found this:
If only I could, I would love just this simple box as doorgift. Tak yah le paper bag yang berisi macam2 tu. Just letak telur sebijik (or chocs, maybe) inside the box would be enough.

Boleh ke ni? Nanti all the makciks mengata pulak kedekutla apela sebab tak dapat paper bag. Adoiii la...I know, it's my wedding and sukati akula nak buat camne kan..but later makcik2 would say
'la..teruknye dapat ni je?'
'Kedekut nye parents dia..'
or, 'apela tunang dia bagi hantaran sket kot...'

I don't know bout you guys, but those are what I oftenly heard in weddings. Sadiss...patutnye doakanla yang baik2 untuk wedding orang instead of mengata. Anak awak lum lepas lagi makcik oiii...

Ter emo sket...

Copycat

You know, there is nothing more upsetting and frustrating to an artist, than a copycat. Sadly, there are some when they see a "good" thing, they feel the need to imitate and capitalize on someone else's amazing idea. I find it utterly pathetic that a person who calls themselves an artist would do such a thing.

I often read and heard the situation face by fellow bloggers, but never thought of being in their shoes. Sakit juga hatinye...

What would you call a person who imitates the layout, the slide, each and every words? Catwoman?

Note 1: Sedikit emo.....
Note 2: Tade sape pun copycat my blog sebenarnye. Not this blog, to be precise :|

Tissue Paper Carnations

I found this from The Folding Trees and decided to share with you..

You will need:
  • Tissue paper
  • Scissors
  • 2 large paper clips
  • Pipe cleaners (chenille stems) or floral wire
  • Coloured marker pen
  • Optional: floral wire, floral tape, wire cutters
You can make your carnations any size, but I found that a 3″ (7.5cm) circle gives a realistic-sized flower. Fold your tissue paper in half again and again until it is just larger than your circle size. I used a 20×24″ sheet of tissue paper, which let me cut 48 circles at once – enough for 4-5 carnations!
Find a suitably-sized circular container and draw around it with a pencil onto your folded tissue paper.

Start to cut out the circle, holding all the layers of tissue paper together. If you can’t cut through the whole thickness, try cutting half the layers at a time, then draw another circle to cut out the other half. I found that I could cut through 48 layers with no problem, as the tissue paper is so thin. You don’t have to cut too exactly, so don’t worry if some of the layers don’t come out as perfect circles. Use a large paper clip to help keep the layers together.

As you continue to cut, add a second paper clip on the opposite side of the circles to keep all the circles together.

This next step is the key to making the flowers look more realistic than standard tissue paper flowers. If you are in a hurry or making them with children, you could skip this step and still end up with nice flowers. It is a bit tricky and takes a few minutes to complete, but I think it’s worth it!
Take a marker pen with a complementary colour (a cheap kids’ pen is fine). A bold colour will give a more effective result. Use your non-writing hand to hold the edges of all the tissue-paper layers together, and use the side of the pen nib to begin to gently colour the edge of the circles. Take this slowly – if you press too hard, the tissue paper layers will separate. Colour a small section of the edge at a time, and go over each section a few times to ensure the colour is intense and the ink has saturated all the edges.

Continue to colour around the edge. When you are about halfway through, move the paper clips to areas you have already coloured, and fill in the gaps.
Note: I have switched to the white tissue paper for these photos as the coloured pen shows up more clearly!

..Erm, yes. You may well end up with a coloured finger by the time you have finished (see below) as you have to hold the papers close to the edge to keep them together while you colour them! Don’t worry – it’ll wash off ;)

Remove the paper clips and select enough circles from the pile to make one flower. I used approx 12 circles per flower, but 8-10 circles would be fine.
Keep these circles together and poke two holes near the centre of the circles. I used the end of a pipe cleaner to do this, but if your pipe cleaners aren’t sharp enough you could use a large needle or similar.
Fold down about 1 inch of the pipe cleaner, and push the long end through one hole and the short end through the other hole.

Pull the ends all the way through, then twist the ends of the pipe cleaner together underneath the flower to keep all the circles together:

Now to make the petals. Separate the topmost circle and crumple it upwards from the centre. Scrunch up the paper randomly, but try to concentrate on the base of the petal (the centre of the circle) and leave the coloured edges alone.

Now repeat with each circle in turn. Crinkle each circle up individually, and try not to have the folds in the same place each time. You can see (below, right) how I am squeezing my fingers around the base of the petal each time I add a new circle. This stops the coloured petal edges from being creased into folds.

Keep scrunching… When all the circles have been crumpled up, you will end up with a lovely carnation like this:

And that’s it for the basic tutorial! If you are making these with children, you probably want to stop at this point. If you want to make the stems look more realistic, here are some ideas:
Make a double-headed stem by cutting down one pipe cleaner to half its length (use wire cutters for this) then twisting it together with another completed stem:

I wasn’t satisfied with my green furry caterpillar stems, so I converted them with some floral wires and green floral tape:
Cut the floral wire to the same length as your stem.

Holding the wire and pipe cleaner stem together, start to wrap the floral tape tightly around them. Start about 1″ down from the flower head (below, left) and wrap up the stem to the head. Then wrap all the way down the stem to the bottom. To wrap without the tape getting tangled up, hold the tape steady and at an angle to the stem with one hand (below, right), and use your other hand to twirl the stem around, winding the tape around itself as it goes.

The floral tape will stick to itself, so there is no need to use glue to fasten it down. Remember to stretch the end of the tape as you wrap the end of the stem, to help it to stick securely.
Make just one as a paper buttonhole. Make about a dozen, and you have a beautiful bouquet!

Nice eh? Really really nice. So delicate and sweet! Bolehla apply for centerpiece , bunga pahar, or saje suka2 je pun boleh.

Berazam nak buat satu camni..

Hati-hati

Salam, all..

Let me share a little secret of mine..

I gained over 60 kg last week. Sebab tu senyap je blog ni. Gigih mengecik kan diri.

Pada suatu hari, luncheon with Kak Haziah kat Chilli's MidVAlley. And you know lah the quantity for each meal kan. Melantak kaw kaw nye lah. To my astonishment, my weight drop to 58kg even after melantak kaw kaw nye. Deep down inside, menyesal tak timbang before melantak tu.

To my surprise, mengapakah sudden drop ni berlaku ek? Even tho takla banyak sangat, tapi nak turun 1g pun susah skang ni..

Mungkinkah kerana patah hati?

Hmm............

Benarkah aku kepatahan hati?

Wish my shoulder to cry on is here with me. Tapi tak lama dah. 23 more days to go! Patu nak nangis kaw kaw nye...yayyyy!!!!

Happy birthday to my fiance. Nak home made birthday cake ek...
Bole..Bole.....Terlajak kata takleh diundur kembali ;p
